The comfortable default

  • The comfortable choice when it comes to purpose is letting others define who you are and your purpose.
  • Many men have let their personal dreams and goals die because the purpose they started with got replaced with someone else’s idea about what purpose they should pursue.
  • Especially if YOUR purpose is beyond a bunch of discomfort (necessary, like discipline or risk), so you slump into the comfortable purposes and the ones that don’t force you to face your flaws and your misdirection.

What I do instead

The very abundance of comfort is one of the problems, and everybody runs towards comfort, including myself. As soon as I stop trying to always be comfortable and push myself, that is the only time things start to happen.
